UF Children's Hospital

In rankings released by U.S. News & World Report on June 21, the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is recognized as one of the nation’s 50 best hospitals for children in nine of the 10 specialties ranked.

UF Health’s pediatric programs were the most-recognized in the state, and seven of the nine were the highest-rated in Florida. Two specialties (neurology and neurosurgery, and urology) were new to the list this year, joining seven other specialties also ranked last year (diabetes and endocrinology, cancer, neonatology, cardiology and heart surgery, pulmonology, nephrology and gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery). Moreover, six of these seven pediatric subspecialties improved their standings from 2015.

The Power of Together,

David S. Guzick, MD, PhD
UF Senior Vice President for Health Affairs
& President, UF Health

I found the U.S. News & World Report ranking of our Pediatric Urology program very gratifying. It represents the extraordinary effort our entire Division has put forward in providing timely and exceptional urological care for children in the North Florida region.  We would not be able to attain this ranking without the tremendous support from the Department of Urology. We hope to use this recognition to expand our practice throughout the state of Florida and Southeast region with our focus on improving care in children with complex urologic conditions.

Chief, Division of Pediatric Urology

We are very proud of Dr. DeMarco’s hard work, commitment to the department and institution and are actively working to add an additional faculty member to support his activities.
